The original team behind the legendary live venue Parking Toys, way out on Kaset Nawamin Road, have sold up and now set up a brand new venture much closer to town.

Taking over the huge spot at the Ekkamai-Petchburi Road intersection which used to be outdoor bar PlernTa, the new Isaan-influenced Parking Toys' Watt promises fresh new music on a nightly basis. Like another cool recent opening, Thonglor's Studio Lam, the focus will be on Thai roots music, notably molam, luuk thong and Isaan ballads, along with other world music.

In due style, the bar will kick off tonight by hosting the album launch for the globe-trotting Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band followed by DJ set from Maft Sai and Chris Menist. Entry is B400 +1 drink, with CDs and LPs also available for purchase. See the band in action below and stay tuned for more from us.
