A pandemic project turned mainstay in Chaing Rai, Vinyl and Wine boasts chic sips, Eurasian bites, and live music to set the mood. With its fun concept, the bar has expanded to Emsphere’s fifth floor, joining the bevvy of nightlife spots in the rooftop zone.

While lots of bars were closed during the pandemic, the owners were brewing the idea of creating their very own spot. Bringing their individual passions to the joint project, Bangkokian Patsakorn “Game” Siriket wanted to work his love for vinyl into the theme and Chiang Rai native Sarunya “Jaa” Chonjaroen introduced the wine element.
The two took inspiration from their favorite cuisines, including everything from Spanish to Italian and some Asian dishes.

We recommend the Tartare de North (B490) which features Northern chili and herbs mixed with raw minced beef, fresh yolk, and some perilla seeds for an extra crispy texture.
For something a bit more refreshing, go for the parma and melon (B360) drizzled with honey and some walnuts or try out the lemon glazed spanish roasted chicken (B450) served with mash potato and tartare sauce for a filling meal.

Jaa personally curated the wine list at the bar, focusing on a variety of grapes from different regions to ensure a unique character in every glass. There are currently two options for the wine by glass: the Cabernet Sauvignon (B350), which goes well with the tartare, and the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for the white wine option (B350).
But there’s plenty more to explore in the bottle list. Check out their bubbly wine collection such as the Jerome Forget Fossey Poire, a cider pear and passion fruit wine from Normandy (B1,690/ bottle). If you’re not feeling like wine, there’s also beer, G&Ts, whiskey, and cognac on hand.
Music lovers can enjoy a steady trickle of jazz, pop, soul, and R&B tracks and live bands offer different styles to match the mood of each day. Keeping with the coziness of the Chiang Rai branch, there are some secluded curved booths where you’ll get a bit of privacy and the open air interiors for big gatherings.
