The structure of the legendary Bangkok nightclub is under new ownership and being rebuilt on neighboring Sukhumvit Soi 13.
Bed Supperclub is back. Or at least the building is. Bed’s iconic spaceship-like structure, which was dismantled and placed in storage when the club closed in 2013, is to be reborn as Chi Ultralounge on Sukhumvit Soi 13.
Behind the new project is nightclub designer Daryl Scott (Mystique, The Tunnel), who says that, aside from the outside shape of the building, pretty much everything's going to change: “Nothing will be white. The building will be metallic silver, in the middle of a futuristic zen garden.”
The new venue will still be divided between a restaurant and a nightclub, with dining to take place in what Scott describes as “the belly of a dragon—very futuristic, very chi." There will also be a giant fish tank containing four-foot dragon fish.
Scott projects that Chi Ultralounge, which he both owns and designed, will be open this June, potentially spelling big changes for the still largely residential Sukhumvit Soi 13.
