Earlier this week,
Beer People Festival 2025 officially announced the return of the biggest beer event on the Bangkok calendar from Mar 7-9 this year.
The event will likely be held at the Chang Chui Creative Park, tagged in the announcement’s social media post, and this year they’re promising the biggest Beer People Festival ever.
Sponsored by Studio11206, the return of the beer festival is a boon to the city’s drinkers and burgeoning brewers. Last year’s Beer People Country theme attracted more than 500 brands from around Thailand, separating the festival into regions to create a little mini-nation of beer.
Last month, the organizers also put together their second Beer Market at the same location, as well as a very beer-y Halloween event.
But it’s not just about the beer. The festival last year featured a platform for talks, activism, and performances.
Beer is a political thing in Thailand, and the Beer People Festival is a chance for activists against the arcane brewing and consumption laws. The festival itself has run afoul of this controversy when their Beer People Festival in 2023 was moved from its location at The Street Ratchada for being “
too political”, eventually being moved Chatuchak.
The organizers, the same group behind the Beer Market events at the same location, have long rallied for more lenient alcohol laws, and the announcement of the festival comes as Thailand is set to review a New Alcohol Control Bill, the specifics of which include the 2-5pm prohibition.
If you want to prep for the festivities and support local Bangkok brewers, BK Magazine put together a
