Those with indie cred will no doubt be in attendance at Home Club's final bash this Saturday, before the club closes for renovations after a solid decade as one of the very few baller-free zones in Singapore's perilous clubbing landscape.

Over the years, it's been successfully delivering quality live music gigs and parties, including indie night Beat! and (perhaps the only drum & bass night in town) +65. Despite its small size and indie crowd, the club has brought in guest acts big enough to rival other more formidable clubs—Peaches, Mykki Blanco and Ms Dynamite (just last month!) are just some of our faves. And they're going down with dignity—still free of "sex, Champagne and radio hits", as their Facebook event page archly puts it.

They won't be gone for long, though, as the club will be relaunched as art space (by day) and club (by night) Canvas in July, in collaboration with Bangkok's Bed Supperclub (also now defunct). The new club will cater to a "more discerning" crowd, says club owner Roy Ng.

Meanwhile, Sultan Jazz Club has officially shut its doors due to high operational costs and staffing issues, according to The Straits Times. Owner Benny Yeoh wasn't keen to revisit the topic when we got in touch. Shame on us for ponying up dough for Jamie Cullum at Sing Jazz, yet not patronizing great clubs that are serious about jazz.
