With submissions from 34 cities across the globe, two Bangkok bars made it into the 51-100 World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 list: Silom-based Vesper ranked 55th and Charoenkrung’s Tropic City came in at 66th.

 

Both bars are “50 Best” alumni. Last year Tropic City made it all the way up to 24, and Vesper landed themselves at number 79. The World’s 50 Best Bars 1-50 will be announced in Singapore on Oct 17 next week, and will likely include some Bangkok names.

 

This follows on from the list making the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 1-50, with BKK Social Club at 3, Tropic City at 6, Vesper at 12, and Mahaniyom at 22. In July 2023, four additional Bangkok bars ranked in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 51-100 list, with Opium coming in at 59, Asia Today at 68, hidden speakeasy FindTheLockerRoom at 78, and Waldorf Astoria’s The Loft at 99.

 

First announced in 2009, the World’s 50 Best Bars is an annual award that toasts to the crème de la crème of the international drinks industry. Judges are made up of 650 drink experts from different parts of the world.
