How about a staycation at Jurong's first major hotel?
Looks like this far-flung hood isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
In case you didn’t get the memo, Jurong is heating up. East-siders, in case you've been meaning to make a trip to the area but have yet to, you can make the most of your journey to the west by checking into the new 15-story, 557-room hotel that will be opening on Apr 30. Owned by Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), the Genting Hotel Jurong will be the first major hotel to open up in the west and its location along Jurong Town Hall Road means that it is within walking distance to mega malls in the area like JCube, Jem and Westgate.
Taking a cue from the nearby Jurong Lake, there’s plenty of greenery going on at the hotel with tree-lined rooftop garden that overlooks the Jurong Lake District. On the other hand, the rooms are modern and sleek and come with free WiFi, flat screen TV and USB charging sockets. There’s also a gym, a swimming pool and a 24-hour shuttle service that runs between the hotel and RWS. Plus, you’ll also be able to get tickets to RWS attractions like Universal Studios Singapore and Adventure Cove Waterpark onsite.
If you’re looking for a spontaneous staycation, walk-in rates start at $380 a night. We found online rates going for $156 a room a night. Head to their website for more info.
