London, Paris, New York, all the great cities of the world have them: big, scary underground tunnels where serial killers can hide or creepy mutant monsters can slowly grow before rampaging around smashing things up. The good news is the BMA are finally doing something about it, bringing a collective cheer from the country’s horror movie directors. The four mega sewers stretching a total of 36 km at Don Muang, Suan Luang, Rama 9-Ramkhamhaeng and Ratchadaphisek, are actually part of the BMA's long term flood prevention plan. Great news, of course, given this year’s flood, though we must admit to some concerns about the disruption that will be caused by digging up large parts of the city and the fact that it’s going to cost a cool B150 million a kilometer. But hey, this is the BMA, so what could possibly go wrong?
