There's a new "Green Vintage" night market in town
The new JJ Green?
Fans of JJ Green are in for some wonderful news: there’s a new vintage night market in town, and it’s almost exactly the same as its now permanently closed yet much-loved predecessor.
As reported by Khaosod English, starting from today, Green Vintage Ratchada market will be located at Suan Lum Night Bazaar Ratchada near MRT Lat Phrao. Taking over a shopping mall-residential building, hundreds of vendors will be selling everything from stylish clothes, accessories, food and drinks to arts, crafts and other cool knick-knacks.
The atmosphere, according to the market's own Facebook page, will be a lot like JJ Green, which was well-known for its chilled-out, bohemian vibe, vast selection of fashionable vintage clothes and rows of industrial-slash-retro drinking parlors with live music.
The new market is open from 4pm-1am, Fridays to Sundays, and is located at the Ratchada-Lat Phrao intersection.
On Sep 12, JJ Green Night Market closed for good after The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) terminated its contract with the market’s operator, V Multimedia Company Ltd, due to its failure to pay rent.
The 21-rai space will be returned to the Queen Sirikit Park Foundation for construction of a 727-rai mega greenspace, which will combine Wachirabenchathat Park (known by the nickname Suan Rod Fai), Queen Sirikit Park and Chatuchak Park into one.
