The new Sun Dance Theatre will host Jitti Chompee's latest dance piece, Little Room in Etienne Marcel, tonight.

Sun Dance Theatre takes shelter on the fifth floor of Silom Society (previously known as Coffee Society, 12/3 Silom Rd., 02-235-9784), very close to BTS Sala Daeng and Silom Soi 4.

Fittingly, the new theater’s debut event will be The 1st Bangkok Queer Theatre Festival 2014, featuring five plays of five kinds, running from September through December.

It will start with a comedy drama by Life Theatre, The 4 Sisters +1, in which four ladyboy showgirls face life and economic crises as their gay cabaret pub struggles to stay open. 8pm on Sep 28-29, Oct 3-6 and 10-12 with a Gala Night on Sep 27. Tickets at 088-018-5966 and www.facebook.com/sundancetheatre.

*Due to last night's big storm, the theater will also host the first round of 18 Monkeys Dance Company's Little Room in Etienne Marcel tonight (Aug 27). See our interview with the company's founder Jitti Chompee, here.
