Ian Kittichai and co. have taken their colorful decor, and flavorful Thai fare, to HK. The views aren’t bad either.

3. Somtum Der gets a Michelin star

The Silom somtam specialist is now the toast of New York, following in the footsteps of another Thai favorite, Zabb Elee.

4. Greyhound goes global

At last count, the chic and trendy label has been spotted in South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Switzerland, Austria, Russia and Israel. 

5. Central now has malls all over Europe (and some of them are pretty cool)

Not content with opening malls around Thailand, Central Group has just acquired three grand old luxury department stores in Germany, KaDeWe (Berlin), Oberpollinger (Munich) and Alsterhaus (Hamburg), all of which originally opened early in the 19th century. Central also own Italy's La Rinascente and Denmark's Illum malls. 

6. Word on the street is Above Eleven is heading to Bali 

Rumor has it that the popular rooftop bar will be opening on the Indonesian island very soon. Stay tuned. 

7. Khao Mun Gai Pratunam is causing queues in Shibuya

The local favorite has landed in downtown Tokyo, where it's demanding waits of up to three hours.

8. The Coca and Mango Tree empire just won't stop

The old-school suki brand's spin-off homey restaurant can now be found on the streets of London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau and Dubai. 

9. MK Suki is shaking up Shinjuku

Where it's proving very popular among Thai visitors to Tokyo, at least. Branches can now also be found in Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia.
