As reported by the Bangkok Post, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has informed the government of its plan to reopen venues in eight different categories, starting with markets, restaurants, sports facilities, public parks, hair salons, pet clinics, health clinics and golf courses.

All venues will need to adhere to strict rules to prevent the spread of Covid-19, including a ban on team sports at exercise facilities; social distancing by placing tables 1.5 meters apart at restaurants; and sanitizing every two hours at salons.

The communicable disease committee is set to make a final decision on Wednesday, but with Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang stating today that the city's current lockdown is set to expire at midnight on Thursday, it is expected that venues will open as soon as Friday.

It remains unsure when the alcohol ban will be lifted.
