There’s really no better way to explore the city than on foot. We’re all about going off the beaten paths and exploring all the nook and cranny of Singapore so our ears perked up when we heard about the upcoming Jane’s Walk happening May 1-3.
This year, there are 21 walks that you can sign up for. Highlights include a guided jog through the park connectors around Kallang River (May 1), a dusk walk through Bukit Brown Cemetery (May 2) and a hike through the Green Corridor (May 3). Other walks cover Geylang, Tiong Bahru estate, Little India, Clemenceau and elsewhere. Walks last anywhere from two to three hours and while they are free, you'll still have to sign up for them as there are limited spots on each walk. So, act fast. Head here to sign up.
Jane’s Walk first started in Toronto in 2007 and is essentially free citizen-led neighborhood walks that bring people together to explore, chat and share stories about their hood. Today, it’s somewhat of a global movement, has been in over 100 countries it has been an annual affair in Singapore since 2011.
