And its interactive backdrop will be the size of three IMAX screens put together.

The latest in a line of new attractions set to open in Pattaya, D'Luck Cinematic Theater (Thepprasith Rd., Nongprue, Chonburi. 02-716-8178) is an ambitious 10-rai "levitating theater" created by the A49 architecture company.

The entertainment complex will feature a 10,000-sq-meter indoor theater seating up to 1,400, which promises state-of-the-art stage, light and sound shows. The highlight is an advanced CGI projection screen the size of three IMAX screens combined, said to be the biggest in Asia.

Its debut show looks to be equally adventurous. Titled KAAN, the 90-minute epic will combine Thai literature like Ramayana, Phra Apai Mani and Krai Thong, courtesy of GDH559 studio (formerly GTH). In addition to the super-fancy CGI backdrop, the story will be told through huge eight-meter animatronics puppets and lots of Cirque du Soleil-like acrobatics.

Don't get too excited just yet; the project won't be open until December. From then, the production is expected to run Tue-Sun at 6pm and 8pm, with tickets ranging from B2,000-3,000.
