There are two public holidays coming up this month—Hari Raya Haji on Oct 6 and Deepavali on Oct 22—and if you’re looking for a cheap day out you're in luck with free entry to the ArtScience Museum on both days.

If you head down on Oct 6 you’ll get complimentary entry to Annie Leibovitz A Photographer’s Life 1990 – 2005  before the exhibition wraps up on Oct 19. If you haven't yet seen the photographer's works, expect over 200 photographs of Leibovitz's personal friends and family as well as shots of famous stars like Leonardo DiCaprio. You'll also be able to check out contemporary and emerging Chinese Photographers at Flux Realities: A Showcase of Chinese Contemporary Photography, which has free entry on both Oct 6 and Oct 22.

Once you've had your fill of wandering the exhibitions, sign up for a free photography course or a artist guided tours in English or Mandarin—but beware each activity is capped to 25 people so you’ll need to get in quick (you can register 15 minutes before the event starts).
