Traffic in Bangkok sucks. And you don’t need stats to prove it. But, hey, relax, intelligent people are looking into the issue. During her visit to the UN, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra took some time to visit Grand Central Station and “observe its transportation system in order to apply it to Bangkok’s system” (National News Bureau of Thailand). It’s not clear what ideas she’ll bring back—more drunk hobos?—but it’s good to know she really cares. The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning chief Chula Sukmanop also had a novel idea: offices should change their working hours to avoid rush hour. BK Magazine has already pledged its support for this plan, agreeing to open our offices at 11am, but only if bars will also kindly extend their happy hours till 10pm to match our new look working day.
