No Eric Clapton, no worries. This weekend, Bangkok is set for its biggest swing dance gathering yet in the park, a rooftop charity concert and a mind-blowing film screening.

FILM
From Ecstasy To Rapture (Feb 28)

There's more to Spanish experimental cinema than just Salvador Dali, as you will get to experience at The Friese-Greene Club, which in collaboration with Le Cool will screen 10 films of radical and avant-garde nature never shown before in Bangkok. There will also be free tapas from new Spanish restaurant Taburete. Leaving behind all the surrealism, the club will also host an Oscars Breakfast 2014 next Monday morning.

The Friese-Greene Club, 259/6 Sukhumvit Soi 22, right next to Imperial Queen's Park Hotel, 087-000-0795, www.fgc.in.th.

MUSIC
Bangkok Schools Charity Concert (Mar 1)

It’s not so often you get to do a good deed by climbing up to a rooftop bar and enjoying some live bands. Do just that by heading along to the Bangkok Schools Charity Concert (Mar 1) in support of the Camillian Home orphanage. The much-loved Hugo will be there, performing alongside local indie acts like Panic Station, Wasabi Bytes and The Sangsom Massacre, with a sky-high backdrop offered from the rooftop Cloud 47.

MUSIC
Banana Split II (Mar 1)

You may know Kongdej Jaturanrasamee as a film director, but he’s also  frontman of iconic band See Tao Ter, who’ll rekindle the good old days tonight at Mongkol RCA Studio alongside Siam Secret Service and Solid State.

NIGHTLIFE
Popscene Indie Night (Mar 1)

Head upstairs at Cosmic Cafe for sing-along indie, Britpop and 60s tunes, while those on the ground floor can enjoy sets from the SXSW-bound The Standards, Deadtown Trash and The Idle Threads.

DANCE
SEA Jam
(Mar 2)

Calling all swing dancers: Benjasiri Park this Sunday evening will turn into an outdoor dancefloor where you can dance and hop under the moonlight, along with 170 dancers from over 20 countries, including the likes of Boogie-woo champion Kouakou Kouamé and the 40s legend Jean Veloz . For those who are not sure of the steps, come witness the spectacular sight--we're told the Bangkok swing dancers will put on a molam choreography.
