What The Festival (Apr 26-27)
Has it really been four years since Bangkok’s original bar-slash-gallery WTF first opened its doors? To celebrate in due style the crew brings back the much-craved What The Festival held over two days. The event will see Bangkok Paradise Morlam International Band perform an acoustic set while the storytelling event Bombyx Stories makes a special comeback, as the small alleyway off Soi 51 is transformed with free screenings and the usual blend of food and drinks.
 
 
 
Bangkok University Gallery simultaneously rolls out two art projects this week: the Emerging Thai Artist, curated by Ark Fongsmut, will see photographer Miti Ruangkritya exhibit a nostalgic series On the Edge that explores changes in Siem Reap, Cambodia (see interview, here), while the Artist in Residence Program sees famed Malaysian artist Roslisham Ismail aka ISE turn the gallery into a laboratory with his Operation Bangkok. Toot Yung Art Center's current resident artist Maja Hurst from Switzerland gives a talk on her career and travel experience before DJs Logan bay and Chiri Moya start at 9pm, alongside her ongoing exhibition Sawatika.
 
 

Popscene Indie Night (Apr 25)
The indie night returns with a local indie lineup of local indie acts performances by The Standards, Deadtown Trash, Degaruda and Scrum Syrup, while on the second floor DJs play indie, Britpop and 60s tunes.

This day-til-night party held in front of the department store features a wakeboard competition and clinic by professional wakeboarders, including Daniel Grant, along with a summer fashion show and food market by Cheeze magazine, plus a pop-up pool party with acts like Joey Boy, Buddha Bless.
