Our desire to leave the house for a meal took a big hit with the arrival of Deliveroo. And not long after UberEat's exit, GrabFood entered the market to make sure the scene remains competitive. Incumbents such as Foodpanda upped their game in response, and local startups like Honestbee expanded their services (Habitat was a big win). Booze and coffee services soon followed, and the result is a delivery landscape in Singapore that ensures you can throw a party any night of the week with zero prep—just splash lots of cash.

Artisan Selections

If you're looking for artisanal products from Australia (mostly sourced from Adelaide), look no further than this set-up started by three Singaporeans who simply fell in love with Australian produce. They've got a very strong selection of craft spirits, wines and beers, plus meats, cheeses and chocolate to complete the experience. Order way in advance, as items are only shipped from Australia upon order.

Deliveroo

They have revolutionized our lives with its list of excellent restaurants and delivery within 40 minutes on most days. We appreciate the real-time updates too, plus the ability to order from multiple eateries in the same transaction thanks to Deliveroo Editions. But they didn't stop there. Ensuring they are ahead of the game, they've also introduced no minimum spend requirements to certain delivery areas, plus the Food Market, where you can order from several different restaurants in the same transaction.

Foodpanda

With the arrival of big-name competitors, Foodpanda also stepped up its game, expanding its fleet, promising to deliver in 30 minutes (usually) and creating new partnerships with restaurants such as Nando’s and The Soup Spoon. They even have a small selection of places open 24 hours a day. 2018 also saw them launch their self pick-up function and throw their first Bites & Vibes block party here.

GrabFood

Linked to your existing Grab account so you can easily order from places like Crave, Shihlin, Selegie Soya Bean, and even McDonald's, and then use GrabPay to foot the bill, GrabFood arrived in a massive blitz that shook up the playing field. More choices is always a good thing, we say. First time users, remember to use "FREEFOOD" upon checkout for $18 off the bill.

Honestbee

They started out by doing your grocery shopping, but can now drop off your laundry, shop for hardware supplies and pick up beer and wine—working with partners from NTUC Fairprice to Thirsty. There’s a nice personal element, where your shopper calls if one of your items is out of stock. Delivery is often within a couple hours. With the launch of Habitat, there's just more reason to download their app.

Perk

Perk sources ethical coffee beans from Africa, South America and Asia and hand roasts them in small batches here. Orders come by mail within two or three days of roasting, ground to your preference.

Phoon Huat Deli

Phoon Huat—one of those brands every Singaporean grew up with. They are no longer just a baking supplies haven, but a gourmet produce provider offering Japanese sashimi, artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and other premium groceries at affordable prices. There’s a ready-to-eat menu available for lunch and dinner takeaways too. Grocery orders above $88 gets you free delivery.

RedMart

With their own storehouse, this online hypermart offers not just fresh fruit, veggies, meats and breads, but also beauty products, booze and even home appliances. The site delivers daily from 10am-10pm (usually next-day).
