The Ministry of Public Health has just come up with an idea that’s actually kind of cool. They’re going to offer free HIV testing where Bangkokians are most easily found—in malls, of course! The mobile HIV testing units will be at The Mall Ngamwongwan on Jul 14 and 21; and at Future Park Rangsit on Jul 28. Results are available within two hours thanks to recent advances in testing technology. The Public Health Ministry claims that people who get tested regularly are 96 percent less likely to get infected, recommending people get tested every six months, particularly high risk groups such as homosexual men. The number of AIDS sufferers increases by 12,000 cases each year in Thailand.
