4 ways to decorate your Bangkok condo to make Christmas feel like home

It might be a million degrees out, but it can still feel like Christmas inside your cool, air-conditioned pad.

The essentials: deck out the living area

Anyone who celebrates Christmas every year will have this part down pat. If your pad is big enough and includes a hallway, that’s a great spot to decorate as well. Go for the basics first, with a small Christmas tree decorated in bright colored ornaments and colorful gift boxes. Balance things out a bit with some neutral tone furniture such as this Ikenna sideboard (B55,600), which helps to add some nice warmth and color contrast without going over the top with Christmas ornaments.

The Christmas tableware must-haves

Presents are one things, but we all know what Christmas is really about: food. Big family meals (friends count as family this time of year) are a must to any Christmas celebration. Prepare for this by getting cool instagram-worthy dishes like the Drafts dessert plates set (B1,130) or Esbo (B660) marbled plate that will perfectly compliment the heavy amounts of baking and roasting going on.

Calm things down with grey

Though at face value a palette of grays might seem bleak, especially for the festive season, it can actually feel very sophisticated and soothing and help to tone down some of the louder colors the pop up around christmas time. Try this Bet fabric chair (B17,700) with dark grey and ash legs, or the retro, '50s-feeling Balthasar II sofa (B58,000) to drop down on once the food coma starts to kick in—and it will.

Prepare the tea set

Sure, it’s not freezing cold outside, but Christmas isn’t complete without a cup of hot chocolate or tea, so bust out your best teaware and dessert plates. We suggest the golden Image porcelain tea cup (B600) with the matching dessert plate (B900). These are definitely on the more glamorous side, but it’s a nice touch.
