You know its winter when the crowds are filing into Lumpini Park for the annual free Concert in the Park series. Bring a picnic, maybe even pack a sweater, and enjoy the sounds of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra at Sala Bhirom Bhakdi every Sunday from 5:30pm through February 2015. Expect classic love songs, Broadway hits and original Thai tunes by guest vocalists—just note, alcohol is not officially permitted.  

The much-loved Brooklyn Baker is just the spot for a relaxed Sunday brunch amid a fairly green setting. Opt for the fluffy pancakes (B200) or the more adventurous egg Rothko (B240). While you’re there, loosen up with an ultimate body treatment (from B800-B3,200) or massage (from B350-B1,600) at the adjoining Retreat on Vitayu spa. 

For some Thai food with modern twists, you might want to drop by the newly opened Osha, headed by Iron Chef regular Thanintorn Tannawan, who serves high-flung dishes like wagyu beef pad krapao (B1,500--yes, you read that right). If you’re more of a street food person, a trip to Lumpini wouldn’t be complete without a visit to somtam joint Jae Kee, famous for its fried chicken (known as Kai Tod Polo, B180) covered with lots of deep-fried garlic. Order it to go. 

Culture Cycliste, whose original branch is right by Lumpini Park, is a familiar name to Bangkok biking enthusiasts. Not only do they stock over 45 cycle brands like Commencal and Scott, the shop also organizes “joy rides” to various locations in Bangkok every Sunday through the end of the year (check www.fb.com/CultureCycliste). Lady cyclists will also appreciate the latest 2015 collection, Solution Lady, which features an Abus Ugrip lock, a pair of Exforce goggles and Exustar shoes, all in pink.
