4 ways to feel rich in Bangkok without actually being rich

Like rich-people things? Here’s some you can try on a pedestrian budget

Visit Lecia Gallery Bangkok (Free)

Lecia = rich person’s camera. Most mere mortals can't afford one, but at least you can check out the brand-spanking-new Lecia Gallery Bagnkok in Gaysorn Village. The space is  proving that it’s more than just a fancy name with its first exhibition: a retrospective on the work of legendary photojournalist Nick Ut (otherwise known as the “Napalm Girl” shooter). If you feel inspired, it's also attached to a shop where you can buy Leica cameras. The starting price for a Leica M10: B270,000. Good luck with that!

Get a head-to-toe pampering at Infinity Spa (B1,000)

Anyone with money knows how to pamper themselves every now and then. Silom’s Infinity Spa was one of the best spa openings of 2017 (see our full list here), and one of our favorites. Relax-atherapy (B1,000/hr) is a 60-minute massage, while Infinity Jetlag Facial (B2,900) is a Thalgo treatment that claims to revive post-long-haul-flight skin. It’s hard to beat that price-to-quality ratio in Bangkok without shelling out actual rich-person cash.

Sip posh high tea at Organika (B650)

Skip the exhausting polo and tennis matches in favor of something quintessentially posh with no physical activity involved: high tea. First, Organika just looks like a place rich people hang out—a white-marbled botanical haven—and they have the tea sets to match. The high tea sets here start at B650/person, and include a towering shelve of treats and sweets. Don’t forget your swanky long-brimmed hat.

Drink cocktails with amazing views at Aire Bar (B280)

Aire Bar is one of the few places in town offering a central location, affordable drinks and top-of-the-line views—the perfect place for laid-back, al fresco drinking with colleagues. First off, all signature cocktails are B280, which in the world of rooftop bars is a steal. We can probably thank the menu consulting of booze experts Bootleggers for the cocktails here, which are two twists beyond typical hotel libations. In top of this, the venue just launched its new “Sunday Sessions” event, which sees guest performers take the stage every weekend from 3-6pm, designed to help you roll on from a Sunday brunch on roll out from the late night. The current line-up features Khun Suay (of The Voice fame) on Fri (6pm-10pm) and Sun (3pm-6pm), and a house DJ on Sat (8pm-midnight).
