Set on the banks of the Ping River, Zensala (168 Patan Rd., Patan, Muang, Chiang Mai, 053-225-888. www.zensalaresort.com) might have a boxy, raw cement façade, but inside it’s all warm colors, natural materials and bright cushions. With only 14 rooms and suites, it is truly boutique, but they did manage to squeeze in an all-day restaurant, and a spa. Introductory rates are B2,000-5,300 until May 31, inclusive of breakfast.
