In recent years, plenty of Bangkokian brides-to-be have been flying back and forth to Singapore just to buy Vera Wang wedding gowns—the highly-coveted bridal wear brand (from around US$3,000 [B92,000]). These Singapore stores are only retailers though, they’re not the brand’s official outlets. But finally last month, Vera Wang opened a new flagship store in a four-story shophouse in Hong Kong (39 Staunton Street, Central, Hong Kong, +852-2869-7002, [email protected]), retailing wedding and evening gowns—becoming Bangkok’s closest store edging out the ones in Shanghai, Seoul, and Tokyo.
