Located 564km from Bangkok, Udon Thani is home to the famous “red lotus sea” in Kumpavapi district.

Now’s the time to visit, as every day between December and February the lotus plants on top of the fresh water swamp will bloom between 9-11am turning the water into a floating carpet of pinkish-red flowers.

A boat tour on the lake is highly recommended, letting you get up close to the lotuses and experience the serene surroundings.
