Following its beachside opening in Pattaya, U Hotels has moved up to the mountains to work on U Khao Yai (02-651-7677, www.uhotelsresorts.com/ukhaoyai).

Opening on Oct 15, this new property goes down a Euro-pastiche route, inspired by French countryside chateaux and arranged in a village-like complex packed with landscaped gardens, ponds and a large free-form swimming pool.

They're also taking reservations now at some pretty sweet pre-opening rates of B2,799/night on weekdays and B3,099 on weekends.

Of course, you also get the U signatures of 24-hour check-out timed from your check-in, and breakfast served whenever and wherever you want. Rates quoted here are valid through Mar 31, 2017.
