Come Sep 15, Shangri-La's mid-range hospitality chain Traders Hotel will give way to a new concept. Centered around a jetsetting virtual persona, Jen Hotel caters to independently-minded business and leisure travelers looking for a more relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The staff also come armed with plenty of insider knowledge on hot new restaurants and under-the-radar venues.

The regional hotel chain will open its first property in Orchard Gateway, with a 502-room capacity ranging from Superior (27sqm.) to Panorama (51sqm.) rooms in the heart of the Orchard Road shopping precinct. There's also in-hotel dining pushing out international cuisine, a lobby lounge and bar stocked with pastries and snacks, as well as a 19th floor pool bar and terrace with a 25-meter long pool and private cabanas. All Jen Hotel properties also cater to those on-the-go and constantly wired with WiFi throughout the hotel and mobile charging stations.

Although Singapore is the first Jen Hotel property to open, by March 2015, expect more properties to launch around the region with destinations like Brisbane, Penang, Manila, Maldives, Beijing and Shenyang. Rates for a Superior Room in Singapore start at around $213.
