Following up on its collaboration with low-cost airline Tiger Air—notorious for negative passenger feedback—and despite owning a sizeable stake in Nok Air—which it failed to persuade to take over its costly regional destinations—Thai Airways is launching one more low-cost airline. It is set to launch Thai Wings mid-2011. Pricewise, the new airline will be positioned somewhere between normal and budget airlines. And yet they claim you’ll get THAI standard service despite the cheaper fares. Thai Wings will also use THAI’s old aircrafts as well as retired pilots who are not older than 65. Expect popular domestic and regional destinations and hold your breath for the logo and uniforms. Those details are coming soon.
