Luxury resorts Banyan Tree Lang Co and Angsana Lang Co will be hosting the Laguna Lang Co Triathlon on central Vietnam's coast on March 29; welcoming both professional and amateur athletes.

After the 20-year success of sister event Laguna Phuket Triathlon, the Vietnamese edition, now in its second year, is sure to draw the sporting crowds.

Both resorts are situated along the central Vietnam coastline with a backdrop of Truong Son mountain range; an ideal setting for the triathlon, which combines a 1.8km swim along the beach, 62km cycle through the Hue countryside and 12km run across Laguna's champion golf course.

This year's triathlon is expected to draw 200-300 amateur participants, across four age categories, alongside 12 professional athletes, all competing for their share of the US$18,000 prize money.

A night at Angsana Lang Co starts at US$231 ($292) per room, while a night at Banyan Tree Lang Co starts at US$566 ($716) per villa. You can register for the marathon online.
