Aug 13-14 sees Japan's largest live music festival Summer Sonic 2011 taking place in the country's two largest cities: Tokyo and Osaka. The festival comes packed with a stellar lineup, including The Strokes, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Ting Tings, Korn, James Blunt (who, by the way, is also playing Bangkok on Aug 9), Suede and Simple Plan as well as Japanese legendary rock band X Japan and Korean hearthrobs Girls' Generation. The Tokyo concert (now sold out) will be held at a hillside space in Chiba with eight different stages while there will be three in Osaka. Tickets cost ¥12,500-¥22,500. More details here.
