Issara Boutique Winery Hotel delivers on more than one novelty. Not only is it a beautiful hotel tucked into a leafy mountainside, it also has its own vineyard and winery, and a private waterfall nearby.

The just-inaugurated hotel is in the hills beyond the sleepy town of Ayutthaya, Muak Lek, Saraburi, roughly a 2.5-hour drive from Bangkok. As you may have guessed from the name, the Issara family, of the Charn Issara Development Company, is behind the venture.

The rooms come in five varieties with rates between B3,500-7,000, the top tier price going to a suite with a bathtub and two balconies looking out onto mountains and the vineyards.

Nature here isn’t all for show though—for B350 a person, take a tour of the Issara Vineyard and Winery, and add B300 for a taste of the family’s own shiraz, chenin blanc and rosé wines. On the horizon for the winery are biodynamic and natural wines, the production processes of which are explained during the tour.

For a different dose of nature, visit the Issara family’s nearby waterfalls (a 25-minute drive), an experience made even more exclusive with the hotel’s option of a private lunch (B1,200 per person, transportation included).

Beyond all these luxuries, the boutique aspect of the hotel means your experience is customizable, and the attentive staff go out of their way to personalize your stay according to your preferences. The small venue also makes this an ideal spot for private parties, from work retreats to weddings of up to 500 guests.
