The latest affort to lure tourists back to Japan is from Shizuoka Prefecture (that's where the Mount Fuji is). The Fujinokuni GoGo! campaign has gathered 18 hotels and ryokans (Japanese-style inn) within the prefecture, with deals starting from ¥4,500 (ฺB1,714) for a room with breakfast and from ¥5,500 (B2,100) for a room with breakfast and dinner. The hotels include Shida Onsen Choosei-Kan (www.chooseikan.com), an authentic Japanese-style hot spring mansion founded in 1887, and Kurhaus Ishibashi Ryokan (www.kur-ishibashi.com), a luxurious ryokan that offers 10 different styles of hot-springs for your thorough retreat.
