Russia's most isolated ethnic group to welcome tourists in 2014
Koryo tours offer the opportunity to visit Russia's most isolated ethnic group, in 2014.
Koryo Tours are now offering the unique opportunity to visit Russia's most isolated tribe, the Tofa people, in the eastern Siberian region of Taiga. The tour takes place for the first time from 30 June to 13 July 2014, and needs to be booked by 1 April, costing EUR 2990 (about $5009).
The ecologically and ethnically sensitive tour has been set up to assist the Tofa people, also known as ancient reindeer herders of Asia, to welcome tourists, with the intention of preserving their way of life. Visitors can learn about the land, people and culture, while taking in the region's famous pristine landscape of rivers, waterfalls and caves.
The region will be accessed by helicopter and truck, after which it will be traversed by horesback, or possibly even reindeer. Find out more online.
