Samui’s Coco Tam, known for refining the cabana bar look, has joined hands with Italian pizza purveyor Peppina for the beachfront dining spot Coco Tam’s x Peppina (www.fb.com/CoCoTams).

If there’s such a thing as cabana-industrial style, this open-air restaurant has nailed it, matching bamboo ceilings and billowy, beachy fabrics with brick, monochromatic tiles and naked Edison bulbs. The restaurant walks right onto a beach strewn with beanbags and tables, Pha-Ngan Island in the distance.

The traditional Italian fare lives up to the Peppina brand, with Neapolitan pizzas (from B290) made from 24-hour risen dough, classic pastas (from B290) and charred meats right off the grill (from B570). Coco Tam holds up the bar end of the bargain, too, with a wide craft beer selection, punchy cocktails and a range of wines sourced from family-run vineyards.
