Phuket's chic new cafe takes pride in local ingredients
A new spot for Southern comfort and sweets.
Located in a new community mall in Thalang, Phuket, new cafe Pinana (www.fb.com/pinanaphuket) boasts the requisite clean, industrial decor we're accustomed to in Bangkok, but backs it up with a menu focused on local ingredients.
That means you can expect to see lots of cashew nut and pineapple-based desserts to go with the coffee brewed from Northern-sourced and Southern-roasted beans.
The owner also recommends the pecan brownies (B65, for a giant slice), apple and mango Danish-crumbles (B40 for a small, B60 for a large), a combination of Danish with a crunchy top, and locally-churned ice cream in flavors ranging from kluay tak (sundried bananas) to lychee and kati anchan (cordofan pea flower).
