Phuket Town’s latest Southern food cafe comes from Napapatch Chetsadawal, the niece of the owner of the legendary Raya Restaurant.
Chom Chan (076-605-954,
www.fb.com/ChomchanPhuket) follows on the success of Napapatch’s other shop-house restaurant, One Chan Cafe n' Restaurant, this time transforming a 60-year-old home and garden filled with Sino-Portuguese touches into an airy contemporary restaurant.
The menu features Phuket food like crabmeat yellow curry with rice vermicelli (B350/B450) and prawns in tamarind sauce (B280), as well as new dishes only found here like somtam Phuket (papaya salad with shrimp paste, B150) and moo kong klua (deep-fried salted pork belly, B150).
For now you can only sit indoors, but they’ll be launching seating in the garden soon.
