The 27th Phuket King’s Cup Regatta (www.kingscup.com), an annual event featuring sailboat racing in the Andaman Sea, will be held on Dec 1-6. The opening event will take place at Kata Beach Resort & Spa (Phuket) on Dec 1, followed by the first day’s racing on Dec 2. To celebrate HM the King’s birthday, 100 sailboats are expected to join the parade on Dec 5, with the award ceremony on Dec 6. Even if you’re not into racing, the cup is a good excuse to hit up the six beachside parties held for the event.
