The 62nd edition of Western Australia's much-loved Perth International Arts Festival is set to take place from February 7 to March 1, with as many as 600 international artists and performers.

The festival's program of visual and performance arts has been curated to transform the natural environment of Perth into a diverse showcase of the arts. The event's artistic director Jonathan Holloway says: “In 2014, this Festival is more connected to Perth than ever. The international and interstate artists that we have invited will help us experience our beautiful land with re-awakened senses.”

At numerous venues and outdoor spaces across Perth, theatrical performances, visual art installations and events will be on offer. The festival is set to open with three nights of Spanish performance "Veles e Vents" that will take to the sea and sky with the recreation of a ship's voyage and a fireworks and light display.

A free program of visual art, performance and events will take to the streets of Perth, while ticketed events include theater productions, such as a remake of "A Midsummer Night's Dream (As You Like It)" by Russian Dmitry Krymor, and a dance program that includes "Haze" by Beijing Dance Company, as well as concerts spanning genres from classical and opera to soul, indie and electronica.
