Next month sees the return of the annual George Town Festival 2013, a month-long event that celebrates art, music, dance and film that was first held in 2010 on the occasion of Penang’s listing as a UNESCO World Heritage site. From Jun 7-Jul 7, the streets of George Town (Penang’s capital city) will be transformed by a blend of cultural and international performances. Among the highlights is the Bridges & Kaki Lima, a colorful street performance that combines the choreography of Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean dances. Most of the main performances take place in the evening, so prepare to dance under the stars to some lively percussion. Tickets required for selected shows. More information at Georgetownfestival.com
