Move aside, Hasselhoff—Big Shaq takes over as captain for It's The Ship 2018
Darude’s on the lineup too
The ting go skrrrrrrap, bap pap kak kak kak... that's exactly how this year's It's The Ship, happening on Nov 4-7, is gonna go down when YouTube viral sensation turned rapper Big Shaq takes over as the appointed captain this year.
Comedian Michael Dapaah first made an appearance on BBC UK's "Fire in the Booth" as fictional raping persona Big Shaq and dropped the comedic nonsense rap "Man's Not Hot", which went ridiculously viral within days, and is now recognizable meme. He might have parted with his jacket which he said he'll never take it off because man's not hot in the follow-up single, "Man Don't Dance", but we'll see when he boards the Phuket-bound ship for Asia's largest festival at sea.
This year, It's The Ship returns to Phuket, so expect a bunch of themed pop-up parties, a stopover on the beautiful island and more. Also announced are this year's headliners, such as trance producer Vini Vici, known for his collab with Armin van Buuren and Hilight Tribe for the chanty track "Great Spirit", EDM biggies Cash Cash and Showtek, Dutch progressive and electro house producer Sander van Doorn, and Grammy-award winning producer and two-time world's number one DJ Paul Van Dyk. Other notable acts that will be making an appearance is German trance outfit Cosmic Gate, Mad Decent's Canadian trap DJ Grandtheft and "Sandstorm" producer and electronic dance music legend Darude.
Packages start from US$80 via Galactix Asia. Full lineup here.
