Lopburi’s main claim to fame, the Monkey Festival, is celebrating its 24th year next week, on Nov 25. For those who’ve somehow missed the previous 23 events, the festival, which is also named Toh Chine Ling, is a giant buffet lunch featuring tons of fruits that is offered up to the troop of monkeys who live near Phra Kan Shrine. It’s the world’s only festival of its kind (of course) and does make for some good photo opps. The first buffet round starts at 10am and the second at noon.
