Globetrotting Gourmet's upcoming culinary tours of Myanmar combine the best of food and travel.

Love food AND travel? Then sign up for Globetrotting Gourmet's upcoming food tours of Myanmar, where you'll get to experience first-hand the country's multifaceted culinary culture.

The first tour from June 28 to July 3 (US$2795 or S$3526 upwards) will focus exclusively on the formal colonial capital Yangon and its environs. The itinerary is jam-packed with a multitude of market tours (dried fish markets, spice markets, you name it), gala dinners and visits to nearby villages like Tante. There'll be lots of eating involved as well—you'll get to try mohinga (fish chowder with noodles), Burmese teas, semolina cakes and more. Plus, you'll be lodged at The Strand, which is the city's most prestigious hotel.

Want something even more off the beaten track? Opt for the second tour instead, which runs from July 3 to 13 (US$3995 or S$5040 upwards). You'll be flown up-country to ancient Bagan, imperial Mandalay and the countryside along Inle Lake. Highlights include visiting local craft villages, ancient temples and monasteries, going on river cruises, watching Burmese cooking demonstrations, as well as feasting on local delicacies like tamarind flakes, poori pillows and curry, steaming bowls of Shan noodles...we're hungry already!

There are limited slots for these tours (typically restricted to 16 participants), so head over to the Globetrotting Gourmet website for more details.
