Rich in nature with many beautiful waterfalls and national parks, Kanchanaburi is also home to museums, temples and well-known historic sites including the Death Railway and River Kwai Bridge. This year’s River Kwai Bridge Festival, an annual event held to honor the thousands of lives lost in the railway’s construction during World War II, will be held right by the bridge from Dec 6-16. Featuring light and sound presentations, the event will simulate a battle scene complete with explosions, bomber planes and trains running through fire. Amid all the cultural performances and exhibitions, there will also be stalls selling local food and products.
