Travelers to Japan, read on. To revive visitor numbers to earthquake-affected areas in the Northeast, Japan is now waiving visa fees for those traveling to Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate prefectures from now until Mar 31, 2016. So even if you’re only swinging by those areas on a much longer trip to Japan, the promotion still applies. You just need to submit documents that prove that you’re traveling to one of these three prefectures, such as your itineraries, hotel, train and/or tour program booking references, or an invitation letter to a conference. Note that even though the B1,100 visa fee is waived, you still need to pay the B535 service fee. More information at Japan Visa Application Center, 02-632-1541/-44, [email protected].
