Where are you traveling next? This week we're off to Kanchanaburi, Koh Kood and Phuket.

KOH KOOD

Wendy The Pool

Opened earlier this year, Wendy The Pool (+66 2-966-1800/2) is a new hotel on the still relatively isolated island of Koh Kood. Located on Khlong Chao Beach, the beachfront boutique is all modernist wooden cubes with tastefully rustic accents, such as Sino-Portuguese-style tiles and whitewashed furniture. The pool access rooms are currently B12,500 ($489), while the beachfront villas with their own private pool are B30,000 ($1175). Koh Kood is 90 minutes by boat from Laem Sok or Dan Kao piers in Trat province, 385km from Bangkok.

PHUKET

Eastin Yama Phuket

The end of the rainy season always means new Phuket hotels. Among this year’s offerings is Eastin Yama Phuket (+66 76-303-457), the Eastin group’s second property on the island, which opens on Kata Beach on Oct 15. This one looks to be going for the family market, with dedicated services for young children and teens, unlike its sister property. Rooms range from a 32-sq-meter superior (B3,000/$117) to a 63-sq-meter suite (B7,500/$293). Through Oct 31, opening rates start from B1,199 ($47) per night including breakfast, which runs till 11:30am.

KANCHANABURI

Cinque Terre Resort

Kanchanaburi’s extravagantly styled Cinque Terre Resort is offering 50 percent off all room bookings through October. Set next to Huai Au Long and surrounded by mountains, the resort’s exterior is styled after classical Italian architecture, while the rooms are decorated in a flashy and ornate Parisian fashion. The location is five kilometers from Kanchanaburi town, but a free pick-up service is offered for guests. Discounted rates start at B1,750 ($68).
