At Hyatt Place Patong (076-689-386, goo.gl/hUnFRF), rooms cost from just B1,800-3,300. For that you get minimal, clean lines, ocean views (if you choose the higher-tier rooms), king or twin beds and plenty of space. 

We like the sound of the restaurant, Gallery Kitchen, which pleases health-conscious travelers thanks to calorie counts next to all their dishes, such as the bacon and cheddar sandwich (732 cal—ouch) and tomato basil bisque (373 cal—better).
