Holiday Inn's newest property might just make you stop lamenting the lack of affordable accommodation in Japan.

Holiday Inn has just launched the ANA Holiday Inn Kanazawa Sky, its first ever property in the city of Kanazawa, which is a two-hour train ride away from Kyoto. The capital city of Ishakawa Prefecture's famed for its historical attractions, as well as its cultural arts—in fact, it's part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a City of Crafts and Folk Art.

The 101-room hotel pays homage to the design aesthetic of Kanazawa—expect lots of dark wood, warm tones, as well as simple, practical furniture made from authentic, locally-sourced materials. Guests can also look forward to wide-screen televisions and environmentally-friendly bathroom amenities.

We've noticed that off-the-ground hotel lobbies seem to be the in thing now—the hotel features a 16th floor lobby that provides guests with gorgeous views of the city. Also, there are three restaurants to refuel at, including the all-day dining restaurant Kenroku, which offers both Eastern and Western cuisines, with seafood sourced straight from the city's famed local market.

The hotel is situated in the heart of Kanazawa's commercial district, and is a stone's throw away from the main train station and downtown area. There are also various popular tourist attractions located nearby, such as the scenic Kenrokuen Garden. Plus, the Komatsu International Airport's just a 30-minute drive away.

Opening rates start from as low as S$89 (no, we're not kidding) for a superior single room—now, isn't that a compelling enough reason to book a flight to Kanazawa already?
