Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet has just launched a daily flight route between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City.

There's a new airline in town—Vietnamese carrier VietJet has just launched a new daily flight route between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City, joining the likes of other budget airlines, such as Tigerair, Jetstar and Airasia.

This marks VietJet's first foray into the Singapore market, and makes us its second international destination after Bangkok. The carrier currently offers just 24 domestic and international routes, but it has grand plans to expand in the near future—in fact, it recently inked a deal for a whopping 100 Airbus aircrafts at this year's Singapore Airshow.

The budget carrier is known for its fleet's vividly decorated fuselages—a slew of Disney characters, illustrations and brand logos have adorned their planes so far. Plus, the airline also prides itself on good service, and has several accolades under its belt from organizations like Spend & Use Advisory Magazine and the Vietnam Tourism Association.

The new route will commence on May 23, and there'll be seven round trip flights per week. The flight will depart Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 8.50am local time, and our own Changi Airport at 12.40pm local time daily. Prices are pretty decent—expect to fork out around S$174 for a round trip flight in June. Visit www.vietjetair.com for bookings and enquiries.
