Performances and exbitions are spread across Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

Now in its third edition, the biennial Unfolding Kafka Festival returns this Oct 26-Dec 15, bringing a line-up of modern art exhibitions, performances and screenings to Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

The festival will feature performing arts, visual art exhibitions and international artistic exchanges between creators from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan and, of course, Thailand.

This year’s focus is on the interaction between different mediums—choreography, physical movement, installations, sculpture and visual arts—in works that blend obscure and surreal scenarios with the real world. The lineup includes films, large-scale sculptures, VR, dance, sketches, photography and more, with events taking place at Chiang Mai's MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, and Jim Thompson House, Chulalongkorn University, Hostbkk, Rose Hotel and Neilson Hays Library, The Siam Society and Goethe-Institut in Bangkok.

A festival pass is B4,000 via Ticketmelon, though tickets to individual exhibitions and events are also available (B800).
